In an instant—everything changed.
It was on a zoom call, talking to my mentor, when it dawned on me. This wasn’t an option, it was a calling. An unshakable feeling down to the very last cell in my body that I had to share my passion for faith, mindset healing, and living in grace with the world. I had no idea, in that moment, that my life would change forever. Or even more shockingly, just how much it would change the trajectory of women’s lives in such glorious ways. Because this calling, it’s led by the one that knows exactly where to go and the next precise step.
And I have to tell you, that has felt absolutely terrifying and completely freeing all at once.
Terrifying because I had to acknowledge that I truly was not in control, that I must submit my will, and that the outcome could be and most likely will be completely different than I pictured it. It’s in those moments where we all face that choice, do we trust our Heavenly Father enough to step off the path we had planned or do we falter in our faith and stay the course?
It seems as though the choice should be simple, possibly even easy. However, God requires us to use our gifts and reach for the potential he gave us and that is the truth we must face as we come to a decision. It is the truth that makes those crossroads feel hard, scary, or insurmountable.
Oh, but beyond that, there is such freedom when you let yourself rest in his guidance. Knowing you are 100% safe cradled in God’s grace and love. God will always be for your good. The pathway you will be asked to walk has already been designed and created just for you. He has always had you and he will never ever let you go. This, my dear friend, is freedom in its truest form. It is then, in this moment of understanding that we must ask ourselves:
Are we ready to live in his freedom?
Are we? Are we ready to let go of our perceived control? Are we ready to totally and completely submerge ourselves in our willingness to serve our Heavenly Father in this calling? To submit and stand firm when it feels hard, heavy, or impossible? Because it will.
We will have to rise up. Step forward and persevere even when we are exhausted, unsure of why we are asked to do something that makes no sense at the time (you know what I mean…when God gives you random instructions that seem to not have any correlation with the work or pathway you are on), or even when you simply do not want to any longer.
Then once we accept that we can do those things there is the ever-present feeling of not being ready for that next step. Even now, I don’t feel ready. I balk at a task or am slow to do because I fail to see myself as my Heavenly Father sees me. He knows my strengths and that I am ready. He knows your strengths too.
If you take this moment of doubtfulness and use it as an opportunity to sure up your foundations you will experience freedom like never before. When your foundations are firm, then you can pursue your calling in surety, safety, and grace.
And are you wondering how do I do that?
- Ask yourself the above questions.
- Find proof of God’s support in your life.
- Build and nourish your testimony.
- Grow an understanding of how you receive personal revelation.
- Journal your blessings.
- Use your scriptures to read how God supports you as an individual.
- Practice grace.
- Establish a dedicated time to spend in prayer and quiet. A time for reflection and connection. A time just to nourish your relationship with your Heavenly Father.
We each have many tools that are available to us to help us, but most importantly, we are able to have the feeling of God’s love for us. He gives that to us as he cherishes each and every one of us. He shares his light, his words, and his direction freely. He gives us grace and safety. All we have to do is ask, listen, feel, and obey in faith.
As I said before, it seems so simple, right? Those small moments are just that, small. That one decision is clear.
But their impact is monumental and everlasting.
So, ask yourself, are you willing to let a moment change your life? To willing submit to be led by your loving Heavenly Father and experience freedom in its truest form? Are you ready to let a moment become a lifetime of monumental and everlasting partnership with him?
I can tell you now, from the other side, that every moment since that one has been worth it. Every moment has continued to affirm that the clear choice was the right decision. I am his and he will not let me go. He will guide me and support me. He will be my light and my biggest champion. Let him be that for you too. It’s so worth it and you are worth it too.
