Selfish. Inconsiderate. Egotistical. We have all heard those words applied to women who have chosen to follow the desires of their hearts. Looking in from the outside, it may have been thought that these women were stealing from their families. Robbing time, attention, money, and even love. Yet, from the inside, it looks very different. So if this you, are you robbing from your family by following your desires?
Where does your desire come from?
When you connect with your heart, do you feel a desire there? Have you chosen to ignore it so that you may avoid such labels as mentioned above? Do you worry about what you will be taking away from those you love if you pursue it?
Let’s start by examining where this desire is coming from. There are many desires that we can have in life. Some stem from comparisons we make and how we can “be like” those we compare ourselves to. Or the desire could be rooted in the perception that if you achieve x, y, or z then you will finally feel worthy. If those are your desires you would need to decide if they align with your faith and what you believe is being asked of you.
Then there are those desires that burn within us. You feel this push, this tug towards it. When you resist you are again brought back to it. It can feel uncomfortable and you may bring up resistance to it. Yet, in your soul, way down deep you know without a doubt you are supposed to fulfill that desire. Those are the desires that are written on your heart and never waiver.
It’s a difference of FEELING that desire versus KNOWING it. Having a VAGUE SENSE of it versus BEING CERTAIN of it.
You are called when you know.
Remember that burning within you? The ways you have been brought back to that specific desire time and time again? What does your intuition tell you about the designs around this desire? Your inner self knows where you are meant to be, what purpose you are being called to, and even the next best step to accomplish this goal. It is our self-doubt, our confusion in the midst of the noise of life, and of course, the worries mentioned above that hold us captive.
What do we do then? Listen. What do you hear? In those quiet contemplative moments. What do you hear when there is a random, but very clear thought in your mind that is providing clarity in a an undeniable statement? There is guidance in these moments for you if you are willing to listen and truly hear it. You will know what you are being called to and that which will not be denied. You will be convicted in your truth. You will have a testimony of that guidance that is unwavering. When you discover that certainty you will be better able to answer that tricky question, are you robbing from your family if you do what you want?
You will discover your divine purpose.
That calling you are acknowledging is giving you the divine purpose that you are to carry out. There is a meaning to all things. There is a way for you to achieve that which you are to do. Through your faith and your DESIRE, you will be able to evolve, become, and embrace the woman God is asking you to be. While also being the wife, mother, daughter, sister, your family needs you to be.
Combine that calling and that purpose.
You will find as you continuously listen to that calling, your intuition, the whisperings of the spirit that you will always know your purpose. That knowledge will allow you to achieve all things through faith. Through Him, who strengthens you. With this course of action, you will also be able to determine if what you are doing is robbing from your family or dare I say it, blessing them instead.
