In the quiet of the morning, before the house began to stir, as the snow was softly falling, reflection was happening. There were so many thoughts and emotions on all that this year had become.
It was so easy to see all the hard, difficult, and heartbreaking moments that were walked through. It was easy to see all the challenges and trials that were faced. It was easy to see all the goals that were not reached. It was easy to see all that this year took. The joy that was stolen. The connections that were lost. The hope that was slowly dying.
The challenge that is being faced is in finding the moments that shined. Where we stood in the light and felt that even though our path was hard, we were upheld, supported, lifted, and sometimes, even carried. That we overcame the hard every single day. We rose up and continue to rise, even now. We may have felt broken, but 2020 did not conquer us.
We are capable and we will step into the new year with a strength we did not have before. We will dream again. We will find hope, we will stand on a firm foundation and we will begin to process instead of existing in survival. start to heal even amid the ongoing struggle.
While we will not instantly heal, we can begin this journey back to wholeness by releasing our thoughts, our emotions, and even the actions that we took. Letting go of what is becoming our past. We can leave these pieces behind in 2020 and we can intentionally start 2021 with a new awareness and the healing comfort from our Heavenly Father in which we have the power to embrace the new year, even the uncertainty.
